Every investigation starts with an initial consultation, where we discuss the object and your research question. This helps determine the most effective approach for your specific case.

The research then begins with a thorough review of the object and all available information. Depending on the question and the object, I work methodically, drawing on a range of sources, including:

• Object documentation

• Archives and libraries in the Netherlands and abroad

• Auction catalogues and trade records

• Historical literature and specialised databases

Every step is carefully documented, and the findings are presented in a clear report. Sources are clearly cited, and any uncertainties are transparently noted, so you know exactly which information forms the basis of the research.

As an independent researcher, I operate completely autonomously, with no commercial interest in the purchase, sale, or valuation of art objects. My work is entirely focused on answering your question and establishing the provenance of the object.
